Deeper Self Growth

Coaching & workshops based on the ILP Approach

Spectrum made the case that human development unfolds in waves or stages that extend beyond those ordinarily recognized by Western psychology. Only by successfully navigating each developmental wave, Wilber argued, is it possible to first develop a healthy sense of individuality, and then ultimately to experience a broader identity that transcends – and includes – the personal self.

The Integral Life Practice (ILP) Approach

Integral Life Practice is a practical and theoretical approach to personal growth integrating and utilising, among others, intellectual development, meditative practice, work on psychological personal shadows, stages and lines of development and body-focused practice. These main areas are used to stimulate personal development, which is supposed to result in a fuller realisation of our unique, individual potential we are born with.

The ILP Approach is not associated with any specific intellectual, psychological, spiritual, religious or body-focused traditions

Ken Wilber, a world-famous thinker, philosopher, visionary, integral life practitioner, creator of Integral Meta-Theory, working in collaboration with Integral Institute's scientists and specialiststs, carried out extensive research into, among others, spiritual, psychological, body and mind related practices from all over the world - ancient, modern and postmodern. The research resulted in a creation of a number of integral practices, whose purpose is to stimulate and support personal growth, health and awareness.

The ILP Approach is not associated with any specific intellectual, psychological, spiritual, religious or body-focused traditions. As a matter of fact, within the Integral Meta-Model, for theoretical and practical reasons, it is possible to use either methods and practices without any specific cultural background, such as e.g. integral practices, or those rooted in the existing intellectual, psychological, spiritual and so on schools.

Workshops

The methods and practices used at my Travel Light workshops are not connected to any one particular intellectual, psychological, spiritual, religious or body related traditions. Some of them are the so-called integral practices - originally created by the approach’s first teachers, some other ones have been taken from different schools and traditions and some constitute my own input. The participants are always informed about the origins of a given practice. The framework that holds all of them together is provided by Ken Wilber’s Integral Meta-Theory.

Aim of "Introduction to ILP Approach" Workshop

My intention is that by the end of this workshop you'll have aquired some knowledge and skills concerning the use of the Integral Model, which is supposed to help you achieve your aims and facilitate a more satisfying navigation through life. Secondly, that you'll have possessed both the knowledge and skills concerning some practices and thirdly, that you'll have experienced a deeper sense of connection with others and yourself and you'll have developed a deeper understanding of others and yourself.

Structure of "Introduction to ILP Approach" Workshop

Meditation Module

presents some theoretical and practical concentration/meditation 'tools' designed to allow us to experience some deeper realms inside us; meditation has always been the major pillar of any deeper approaches to self growth, ancient and modern.

Body Module

is composed of both theoretical and practical aspects concerning our bodies; there is some physical exercise designed to lead us to a better communication with our body and its energies and also to increase the muscle strength.

Mind Module

focuses on the theoretical framework the whole ILP Approach rests on and presents the key concepts of Ken Wilber's Integral Model.

Shadow Module

employs techniques targeting some material inside us which we have somehow disowned for some reason and attempts to reconnect us to it so that we could reintroduce its potential into the stream of our development. The shadow material tends to torpedo personal growth, so the idea is to spot it and skilfully befriend it.

FAQ

Who is the ILP-based theory and practice for?

Generally speaking, it is for anyone who wishes to better understand their own as well as other people's motives and behaviour so that we could adequately deal with various situations in our life. To achieve the above we need to actively engage with at least the four dimentions of our experience, namely psychology, spirituality, philosophy and bodily awareness.

Is it necessary for me to be familiar with any personal development practices in order to take part in the workshop or individual sessions?

No, it definitely isn't! And it can be an obstacle, at times :). When it comes to the workshop, I'd like you only to fill in the short questionnaire when initially registering for the workshop, which will help me adjust the range and content of the workshop to your specific needs. As far as individual sessions are concerned, there is an initial meeting, free of charge, during which we discuss your needs and goals.

What can I get from the ILP Approach?

From among numerous approaches to personal development and health, the ILP Approach seems to take into account the largest number of important variables influencing the quality of our life. To put it bluntly, the approach is simply there to guarantee that we won’t end up being more or less successful in some areas of our life and screwing up in the others, which, unfortunately, is true for so many people. Also, it creates some necessary conditions for the realisation of this unique potential each of us has. Generally speaking, the approach offers a healthy lifestyle, a chance to truly experience life in such a way that we are at the same time fully engaged with and distanced from everyday matters.

Are there any other types of workshops offered?

One of the purposes of the Introduction to the ILP Approach workshop being offered now (details above) is for you to learn and later on use the ILP-based tools on your own. Depending on the interest, however, my intention is also to organise workshops deepening the ILP-based practice. What's more, it is possible, if you wish, to attend one-on-one coaching/training sessions and treat them as a continuation of the process started at the introductory workshop. (Individual sessions can, of course, be attended without any prior participation in the workshop)

Ken Wilber

Who is Ken Wilber?

The ILP Approach to personal development is based on the Integral Model created by Ken Wilber. Wilber, indisputably the leading figure of the whole Integral Movement - which has been evolving now for over 40 years - is considered by many to be one of the most prominent and influential contemporary philosophers, whose books (25) have been translated into some 30 languages.

The Integral Meta-Theory

What makes Wilber particularly relevant in today's world is that he is considered to be the creator of the first truly integrative philosophy called Integral Theory, which incorporates and connects some commonly confirmed theory and practice from a multitude of fields to build a larger integrative picture. Combining anthropology, cultural studies, systems theory, developmental psychology, spirituality and biology, the theory has its applications in areas such as sustainability, education, psychotherapy, psychiatry, coaching, ecology, business, medicine, politics and others.

Wilber's Integral Institute was the first organisation in the world whose primary target was to spread the Integral Theory and apply its practical tools to handle present-day global issues. It was built in cooperation with over 200 scientists and experts specialising in such disciplines as, for example, education, politics, law, business, medicine, psychology or spirituality.

Also, Wilber is a co-founder of Integral Life – which is now a member-driven digital media community that supports the growth, education and application of Integral Meta-Theory in a number of fields.

The Intuition

Last but not least, Wilber's work constitutes the embodiment of one of Albert Einstein's postulates. Einstein claimed that it was the Intuition that should be the leading force governing our choices and actions and the Mind should be its servant – of course, without diminishing the Mind's importance. Einstein added that a multitude of problems for the human race resulted exactly from the inversion of the above-mentioned roles with the Mind as the Master and the Intuition as its servant. Wilber is a scientist using the Intuition as a primary tool simultaneously appreciating the huge role of the Mind.

About me

I come from Krakow in Poland. I graduated from the Jagiellonian University completing a master degree programme at the Department of English Philology. For almost 30 years now, as a teacher-manager, I've been involved in running a language school in the centre of Krakow - now offering also a substantial number of online courses.

I also have a post-graduate diploma in coaching and workshop training obtained from Tischner European University of Krakow and for some time I've been working as a coach utilising Ken Wilber's integral theory and practice.

Additionally, for 8 years music played an important role in my life: I have a secondary music education diploma awarded by Wladyslaw Zelenski Secondary Music School in Krakow.

Last but not least, I've been married for over 30 years and I have a daughter.

As far as my interest concerning the fields of personal growth, psychology and spirituality is concerned, for over 20 years I've been actively involved in the pursuit of integral theory and practice as applied to the above-mentioned fields.

The idea to offer workshops and individual coaching and training sessions has been the result of my deep need to spread the integral vision for a better life for us all. It could be argued that The Integral Approach constitutes the most accurate map of human consciousness ever created and as such offers the best possibility of realising our unique potential.
